Banks Mill studios, Derby, artist

Zaza is an award-winning artist, working amongst the creative community of Banks Mill in Derby from a studio on the first floor.

She has chosen the unusual medium of hand-cutting card with a scalpel. Together with the application of layers of vibrant coloured fabrics she produces bold and contemporary pieces. Originally from France, Zaza has been living in Derbyshire since she was 18.

In normal times, Zaza would be taking part in art fairs and art trails all over the country. Until the reopening of such events, she is using this time to build a portfolio of work.

To celebrate being back in my studio, I will be offering £100 off any original artwork (priced at £500 or more) for each person, on the back of a studio appointment. Anyone not able to visit, but would still like to order, will get a free insured delivery (UK only). This is a limited time offer during April and May 2021 until artfairs start again.

I now have a dedicated working space at Banks Mill Studios in Derby. This amazing old victorian building is a hub for creative people stretched onto 5 floors. It’s a perfect fit, and has made a huge difference to me and my creativity.

I have lived and worked in Derby for a number of years as a freelance graphic designer and cartographer, but I was born and grew up in the South-West of France in Pau near the Pyrénées mountains.
